Paint urban scenes with Plein Air Austin and instructor Randall Sexton. Open to all levels,these two 3-day workshops are especially geared to encourage the experienced artist to reach greater heights in their work. Sexton will review the basics of solid picture making, compositions, values, and shape - while sharing his own methods for simplifying the complex. Three days (weather permitting) will be spent on location in downtown Austin. Daily demonstrations will be followed up with individual assistance at the easel. Sexton works in oil medium but is open to all mediums. Workshop will run 9am – 4pm with a break for lunch.

Plein Air Austin is a group of artists, in and around Austin, Texas, who paint together on location throughout the Texas Hill Country. The group was founded in 2001 to encourage the pursuit and appreciation of painting outdoors. Plein Air Austin is composed of serious artists dedicated to the tradition of painting on location in a direct manner. Mission: Promoting painting directly from life through paint outs, exhibitions, and fellowship benefiting artists as well as the community.
