Join us for painting SoCo! Who can resist the colorful medley of shops and people that are truly unique to South Congress. Take your pick of views from the South shops view to the North view of the capital building.
Crowds will start to drift in for Sunday morning brunch around 9:30 am. Plenty of free parking in the SoCo parking garage.
Sunday March 5: Zilker Kite Festival 2100 Barton Springs Rd., Austin, TX(map) 10 am - 5 pm
Grab you paints, grab your kites. Let's go paint and fly a kite too! Come enjoy an Austin tradition, the annual Kite festival at Zilker Park with amazing views of the skyline.
Sunday March 12: St. Edwards University University Drive., Austin, TX(map) 7 am
Join us for Sunday morning painting on the beautiful campus of St. Edwards University in Downtown Austin. Paint the historic main hall, sprawling oaks or the view of capitol building from the top of the hill. *Sometimes windy at the top of the hill.* Park in main visitor lots near Old Main Building.
Thursday March 16: San Gabriel River Park Lower Park Rd., Georgetown, TX(map) 7 am San Gabriel Park near the fork offers views up and down the lower river. The foot path across the river is often a favorite for the ducks to sun bath on. Lovely sprawling oaks and grape vines near the picnic areas offer plenty of shade. Early birds can catch the sunrise over the river and distant bridge. Plenty of parking in park off Lower Park Road.

Paint urban scenes with Plein Air Austin members and instructor Randall Sexton. Open to all levels, this 3-day workshop is especially geared to encourage the experienced artist to reach greater heights in their work. Sexton will review the basics of solid picture making, compositions, values, and shape - while sharing his own methods for simplifying the complex.

Sunday April 2: Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge S. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX(map) 7 am
Pfluger bridge offers a 360 degree view of the downtown Austin as well as Lake Austin. Always plenty of variety to choose from the park view, bridge view, rail bridges or even down by the lake side watching the colorful passing kayaks.
Early birds are encouraged to catch the sunrise over the downtown skyscrapers. Check maps for available park parking near by.
Saturday April 8: Turkey Bend Recreation Area 4906 Shaw Drive, Marble Falls, TX(map) 8 am - 12:45 pm April flowers will be blooming so Turkey Bend is a hot spot for painting spring flowers! Don't miss this opportunity to paint the Texas hills donned in all the colors of spring.

Join us for painting the wonderful variety of flora and vistas of Zilker Botanical Gardens. Take your easels and pick your painting views from the Japanese koi ponds to the historical markers, rose gardens, conservatory gate, or distant views of downtown. Restrooms available inside main house. Parking available on grounds. $2 cash admittance for Plein Air Austin.

Star Hill is a re-creation of a Texas Hill Country community typical of the early 1900s. All of the buildings have been relocated from around the state and carefully restored. Star Hill is centered around the historic Pontotoc Chapel
